Friday 23rd April - walk **** - Two Rivers – Orwell to the Deben – sunny but still a tad nippy.

The good weather continues with yet another sunny day here in Felixstowe but the poor garden is in need of some rain with none in the forecast! No plans today so just enjoyed the lovely weather, sunny and warm in our back garden, as usual me doing my exercises trying to keep the dodgy back moving while Mag potted up her new pots:) Then with no sign of a sea breeze we decided to bike down to Landguard for a picnic lunch leaving home around 1.30. Taking the inland route through Langer Park to the view point where you are meet with a rather nippy onshore breeze, you really needed your gloves on your bike! No sign of the recently repaired foot ferry we head for the old wooden jetty as a huge container ship leaves the docks. So, it is all go while we have our yummy roll, loads of boat action a tug boat lets the rope go from the container ship right in front of us watched by a canoe with several yachts making slow progress in the light airs, the pilot boat returns as does a couple of fishing boats. We sit for ages watching the world go by before carrying on through Landguard Reserve and along the fairly busy prom. Mag returns home up Bent hill while I continue onto Felixstowe Ferry which is much quieter. The tide is very low so I walk along the foreshore taking a few pics before its up onto the Deben path to Kings Fleet. Then along Marsh Lane with an impressive field of bright yellow rape and home through the woods at the Grove. So, another top bike ride being out for 3 hours covering over 13 miles, just a tad chilly along the seafront! Might be enough wind this weekend for some foiling so its fingers crossed!
